There is a free Day of defeat weekend so everyone can try the game out since beta went live. There are some big changes to the game for everyone to check out for themseleves.

This is dumb for valve, they give out a free weekend, on one of the crappiest updates, and they expect it to help them. Figures. no offense to those who like it!

Yeah I'm not sure these updates will go over well with all the hardcore players. We have a number of those in the clan. New players may like it, but they will not know the greatness of the game that it once was. I just want Valve to get rid of this so-called update and bring back the game that it was before. If not that, they need to make major changes this "update" in order to make the longtime players happy. I bet Valve will be receiving many complaints if not already.

I dunno why people are so upset about it... even if it does trash the game, its still BY FAR the best multiplayer WW2 style game out there. And dont even say it makes it unrealistic.. the whole game was and is unrealistic.

I signed up for the free weekend, played for a couple hours on an eGO server, stopped, shelled out the $5 for the game, and won't look back. I have no idea about the problems with the update, but this is the best realistic (relative to TF2) FPS I have played on a PC! Thanks to all the eGO members on the DoD side for being so inviting and putting up with a nOOb like me! :)

Funny, I used to say the same thing back when DOD was in beta. Back when it was a free user created mod, before Valve picked it up. :)

The fact is, things change and some people move on. Whether or not that's good or bad, is a matter of opinion, really.

Anyway, I've been thinking about buying it so now I'm glad that I can try it and see if it's worth my money.

Well for me I saw the message from Steam and said "what the hey, ill give it a try!" Now after playing the game for two days i was very impressed. Being a noob it was easy to pick up like TF2 and it plays amazing and looks great. I was sold, then I saw that it was five freaking dollars and almost blew a gasket! I bought it today and look forward to having many hours of fun with you guys. Also if it wasn't for this game and me loving TF2 I wouldn't have found this community!
