What eGO was to me

I never knew what eGO was to me until it stopped supporting the game I played (Battlefield), it was where my friends and I met to game, but it was also my place to vent. In some ways it became my psychiatrist, as I had a place to talk about my combat experiences, big thank you to JTipton for that.
I often sat in Team speak alone at night and would get randomly pulled into another channel just to talk with other members, I enjoyed the hell out of that, more often than not I rarely spoke to anyone other than BF members and when they would pull me into their channel, it spoke VOLUMES of what eGO is REALLY about, being a community. I miss this very much now.
It feels like a very big part of me is now gone, and I have no clue as to how to heal it. At least I have my wife and our small group of friends in World of Warcraft, but, it just isn't the same.
I know things progress, but, there are times, that I wish they didn't have to, and this is for sure one of those times for me. Reminds me of a song from the 80's titled "Don't know what you got, till it's gone", nothing could be further from the truth than that.

I have fond memories of hopping into your TS channel at night with people for a good chat. I do miss that a lot... everyone always being on voice chat and channel hopping at night just to see what people were up to and sometimes join games I normally wouldn't. It's a chapter on life that I'm finding difficult to close the feelings for, as it was a great reprieve through many hard days.

We stopped using Discord because EdgeGamers dropped BFBC2 so we started our own server and use Teamspeak which everybody ( old timers ) like better than Discord , there is a huge amount less clutter in TS .

Teamspeak? Us olllddd timers liked Ventrilo and putting in tickets with Maxfrag to have it brought back online. Haha
Oh man... I remember sending a forum PM to Artimus in like 2011 about Maxfrag after I read they were doing some shady stuff lol

I'm back after a long time, and this is the first message on the forum!!

Thank you Beemer, for the memory-invoking words, for recruiting me into eGO in the first place, and for the hours and hours of memories.

Hey Papa long time no see, glad to know you're still kicking, and watching someone I recruited go to become a member of the year, well it was a rather proudful moment to say the least.

Hey, you guys are legends and always welcome.
I loved battlefield so I mean while I never got much chance to chat with ya guys, I did hate to see things shut down.

Idk if you guys are interested, but there is a project brewing that might be up your guy's alley. It's called battlebit, and it plays just like battlefield, but it's low-poly. It's meant to be able to run on 10yr old hardware, and plays better than BF4 did at launch. If you guys are interested, I speak on behalf of everyone working on eGO's project for it, that you guys would be welcome.

Papa1960 is the one who really got me into this game and the people involved. I feel like we were the steppingstones that helped these sites to get to where they are today, only to be forgotten.

They must be ahead of schedule, because I can't log in at all. Termination was slated for December 8th.
You are always welcome here and Im sure everyone in eGO appreciates you both being here. I will agree with 4g0tt3nSou1 4g0tt3nSou1 Battlebit is going to be a great game and we will have services on there at some point, I would love if you guys joined us and had fun! EGO is all about having fun and being laid back so if you ever need anything feel free to reach out, Id love to take the time to get to know the Battlefield OG's.

Mercer , it's a problem at your end because we play BFBC2 every day on our server , as far as Battlebit is concerned , I was looking at it , looks way to crowded and fast paced for me .

I can't even get to into the server browser, it says can't log in. Can't log in, please try again.

Oh man, I remember playing with you back in BC2 and BF3. Those were the good times, with PyroTekneks, dutchchoper and kerak. They're all still in my EA friends list.
