I haven't been here long, but from what I've seen maybe 40% of perma banned players deserve to stay perma banned. The other 60% are negotiable. That being said I agree @Luna, if they want to be unbanned they should appeal. While looking at appeals when cs2 releases (assuming the bans coincide with CSGO ie. Gta bans stay in place) they should be looked at with more leniency. If after given this chance to redeem themselves they see it fit to get perma banned again. Then I can have no remorse for them and it may be time for them to find a new place to play. Just my 2 cents.

Change that 40 to something like 10-20%, and you are spot on. Anyone who has unnecessary time on their hands and their sole purpose is to ruin the fun for everyone else and make the game hell should be permaed. With night time jailbreak dying over the last 3 months before cs 2 release, unbanning people (some) who never deserved to be permaed definitely sounds like the right decision. But what would I know. I'm just a player that actively plays on the server 3-5 times a week. The leadership that logs on once a year and bad mouths how jailbreak isn't what it used to be 7 years ago (Luna), and some like (Simon) that never even connect; definitely know what the people that actually play and enjoy the game would want. Surely there's no way for leadership to make a poll and allow everyone to put up a vote, and then meet somewhere in between? @Daddy Succ are you the server manager too, father?

I haven’t been leadership for like 3-4 years, never have been for CS, and have zero interest in CS overall. My statement was fairly generic as a whole. If people want to get unbanned, tell them to go ahead and appeal it. I just don’t believe in mass unbans being healthy, but I’m all for looking at second chances and giving people a shot.

The people you reference above are individuals whose opinions have mattered and shaped our community to be what it is today. Unfortunately for you, yes, I do trust their opinions more because they know deeply what EdgeGamers is about and what we should stand for.

I’m appalled this was even recommended but I’ll address it. We would never put up a poll asking everyone to vote on unbanning people. If we did that, we’d have hundreds of horrendous players on our servers that blatantly don’t belong playing here. Racists, bigots, griefers, jerks, assholes. We don’t need them here.

The amount of people I see with 10+ bans on record that have their friends spam us with messages saying “OMG YOU GUYS ARE WRONG THEY DONT DESERVE IT.” You’re telling me that WE were at fault 10+ times? I don’t think so. I feel like that FAFO concept applies here. The more you screw around in our servers misrepresenting our community, the more you’re going to find out (and be perma banned).

We will not be unbanning people. We will not clear a ban list. There will be thousands of servers to play on for people who break our rules or acted like idiots playing here. No. No. No.
