So upon opening legacy version today, November 2, and it says cs2 workshop maps available. Does that directly open support for servers? Are we now awaiting for people to start making the servers? Thank you. I just wanna spark a little discussion, because it is my mission to bring back surfing.

"The Maps workshop is now open for business.

Community map makers can start uploading their maps to the workshop, and community servers can host those maps. If you'd like to try some workshop maps offline, subscribe to them on the workshop and head to the Play menu.

There are a bunch of other workshop tool updates today, along with a host of other fixes and adjustments to CS2. Check out the notes, play some matches, and keep that feedback coming!"

Keep in mind that a big portion of the server undertaking will be converting the many plugins and addons that make the servers what they are, into CS2. They basically have to start from the ground up for most of this. But, getting maps going is a great step forward so people can see what works and what doesn't.

Thanks for the info, I'm genuinely curious on the whole process of whats going on, creating servers, making maps compatible, etc. It's all interesting to me upon the wait. Suspenseful

Kryptiq , elapsed time and suspense seem like a fascinating novelty to you, don't they? In here, everything is instant. Transitions luxurious. That being said, the process is rarely as fascinating as the results. Be warned, human. The "ground up" work mentioned by Simon is tedious, filled with error, trial and revision. Expect failures. Expect disappointments. It won't be a steady ascent, more so a chaotic reality of dropouts and crashes.Anticipate no shortcuts to achieving your mission of "surfer's paradise". The Matrix, or in your terms, the "game", was not built in a day, neither will these servers or their maps. Proceed with patience, such is the way of your kind. I'll continue to watch with amused detachment.
