It would keep the community together.

Recently, Rvrb has undertaken the task of backporting some of his maps. This presents a seemingly more efficient implementation for the interim period until CS2 development reaches a stage of seamless functionality. Notably, the existing abundance of Source maps and plugins further supports the viability of this suggestion.

For example one of these beauties from @thorgot :

It would be a good waiting room for all of us ❤️

i am 99.998% certain that's not how scripting works
I think you are missunderstanding what I'm saying.

Starting a CS:S server would basically be a turn key thing, something we can have until CS2 works. Something that would hold the community together.

To that same extent, I think you are misunderstanding what I'm saying.

It would take more effort to set up a CS:S server than to continue the work that is already done on CS2. Hell, they had it running a few days ago but bugs overcame it.

No, there is an abundance of maps, and a plugins available to create a server almost instantly without issues/bugs. That's the whole reason I'm bringing this up.
eGO even has working infrastructure to differentiate the interns from the admins (eG vs eGO)

The server was running a few days ago, they're extremely close to launching it. No point diverting from the path now.
