Two Hot Things was really cool, so would you guys transpose those parts to Guitars, Bass, and Vocals? For me the hardest part is trying to find others who want to play and write the same kind of music. Sonically, my friends and I have very different tastes in rock and the music we want to play/write lol
It's definitely possible, the only thing is all of the people that I was in that band with went off to different colleges around the country after high school, and we unfortunately don't play or talk much anymore. Also Two Hot Things is one of my favorites, and our french horn player was the one who wrote that. I could probably ask for the .mscz file to transpose it. I've also tried to dabble in composing my own pieces either for myself or an ensemble more recently, or composing an ensemble piece where I just play all the parts on my clarinet lol, but the hardest part is finding the motivation and the time.
I can relate to that a lot. I tried getting a band together and, no offense to my friends but they did not have the skill to be in a band yet and I couldn't balance teaching them all their instruments and parts for songs and keeping up with my own lol. I tend to work alone most of the time now but ideally I would like to be gigging around with other boozos like myself.
I think Sunset Drake sounds super dope and I dig the Clarinet solo
That is really neat though that you guys played together in an ensemble kind of band. I tried learning clarinet at a young age but idk, I ended up preferring the guitar. But I can totally relate to this! I also tend to try to write all the different riffs and bassline on guitars. Also that it really is difficult to find motivation and especially the time to sit down and write stuff out. That last part is definitely true lol
Haha this is also very true, not everyone takes the time to practice their instrument and so you kinda end up on different levels sometimes, on top of trying to write and everything else it can get chaotic for sure. But it still can be fun. I agree though that gigging would be the ideal goal.
I'm not much into country but this stuff is fire, Living on the Road probably going into my playlist. Also, a 5 string bass in country?! That's dope asf. Rock on, man!
