If you haven't heard, Nintendo is suing Palworld due to patent infringements. It is extremely similar to Pokémon and many say it's "Pokémon with Guns". What patents were infringed on? They say "Game mechanics" (assuming it is using balls to catch pals) being the main one.
Seeing that they only sued for "66k", is it really worth millions to fight in court?

How does everyone feel about the Palworld/Nintendo lawsuit?

I talked with a bunch of friends about this when Palworld was released. Palworld knew what they were doing when they decided to make a game that you catch "pals" in balls that by throwing it at them. Not only that, but alot of the pals just straight up look exactly like their pokemon counterpart. I like the changes like base building and stuff but it doesn't make it unique enough to be considered transformative content. Despite all the arguments I have made for Nintendo. Nintendo does not own the rights to catching animals and using them to fight, I think where Nintendo is getting mad is that they are using balls to catch the animals which Nintendo says they own the rights to with their Pokeballs.

Great topic!
