I joined eGO exactly five years ago today. I want to talk about my journey, some of my personal thoughts, and suggestions for the community as a whole as whilst I know I haven't been here nearly as long as many others, I still spent nearly a third of my life here.
During 2018, I started playing on the TTT servers way back then. It wasn't until 2020 that I started getting involved with the community and joined, especially during COVID, where I had all the free time in the world. The period between 2020 and 2022 was likely my best years at eGO. I wanna give a huge shoutout to Bran Gang and the people on Teamspeak for being such a great group to hang out with, and I miss those time before everyone split up or got banned, etc. In particular; Bakr, SuperNova2501, WavieTheKid,

When I switched to TF2 in 2021, it was a spectacular experience. I didn't feel like the CS:GO leadership at the time really cared about my input or what I did, so when I moved to TF2, I had a blast. Immediately, I was promoted, and I got to host my own events, which was a great time. I met so many good people on the TF2 servers, it makes me sad to think it's all gone. I got demoted during my time in TF2 when I turned 13, as I was lying about my age and decided to fess up about it, as I knew I shouldn't have been lying in the first place. During that time, I didn't really play much and instead focused more on schoolwork and playing other games as well. I got a stroke of luck though, when I was offered to get admin back early for the upcoming December when the TF2 division wanted to host as many events as possible. So, I got my admin back and event coordinator and I got back into playing the game again.
I also started playing more jailbreak as well. Whilst TTT will always be my favourite, jailbreak is still pretty fun. I want to give props to some of the best JB players and admins who genuinely make the server so much better, so I shall shout out housekeeping,

My Journey is sort of over. So many of the people I was friends with here simply got bored with the place or got banned entirely. The community went from having gaming first, to having a bit more of the admining first, which made the place stale and boring. Of course, I'm not saying that you should be allowed to just mindlessly break rules whatsoever, but the chaotic charm is gone. I am especially disappointed with how TF2, Minecraft, and kz were all handled. The fact is, most of the people I know got kicked out just for being themselves, or a small mistake, or just heavy bias by the admins.
So here are my suggestions:
Stop being so uptight. There are obviously lines that can be crossed, but if we punish people for small accidents or just simply prevent any kind of fun, people leave, and it gets boring. Because of how badly everyone in kz was treated, JB lost a lot of its maps, and it's justified. People put in effort to play the maps they enjoyed on the very same servers, and when they try to enjoy the game, they get banned or kicked for such minor details. I have never seen so many false bans on such a small group of people because they "are too sweaty" or "because everyone in the gang breaks rules".
If eGO wants to start making money, it's not going to be by recycling the same games only to have the same people playing on those servers. Not to mention that TF2 and Minecraft basically just disappeared, bring back Rust and Minecraft is not going to fix anything. The majority of the players here come from CS and TF2, and now TF2 is gone. My suggestion here is to expand more inside one type of game, and the obvious choice is, of course, CS2. Looking at many other gaming communities, they have been substantially more successful as they've kept in their own games and instead attracted the general player base of the game.
I do still care about the community, but with the direction its been going I don't know how much longer I can really tag along. Most of my friends are gone anyway, so I want to instead appreciate the times I have had already.
