Is there any way to reduce my ping, outside of getting a better internet connection?

As the title says, I have a relatively high ping (anywhere from 100-250) and I'm wondering if there is anything around to cut that down. I know gamerail was around for a while, but on closer inspection, they are gone now.

Any ideas?

nah, not really, top 3 reasons of high ping is cpu usage, internet connection, and location. Other than that is pretty much frame rate issues.

Dread head to http://speedtest.net/ and run a speed test for the nearest location to you. then run one on dallas, tx (closest thing to Frisco, where our servers are located and look at the difference.)

what kind of ISP service do you have?
what kind of package do you have with them? 5mbps, 10mbps? this will increase/decrease your internet ability pretty easily.

also, as i've hinted at.. location plays a big factor.

You could also be using bad DNS servers... you could always try deleting your DNS cache... try to find a new pathway to the server... may not help... but its worth a stab. Or resetting your winsock catalog.

oh yeh, your nic card could be crap. Check out, Killernic cards.... they set a priority for ping rates... if you have a decent connection (in the general sense of the word) then it might be your nic card acting silly... and if you didnt know, NIC means Network Interface Card, or your ethernet card to the comman man. lol... give it a try...

i only have 1.5m on dsl, however, i do live in ks... but, i still achieve 20-30ping rates.

I would also check the upload and download rates on your router. had a higher ping a few days ago. had Xfire runing an upload of 400 and download of the same slowing me down.
