Considering the major data leak they recently had and admitting they are training their AI with our data. We might be seeing the fall of discord now.

I am all for moving away from Discord; I never liked the UI for large groups/organizations.
Down for anything tbh

As for Discord, why do they need everyone's face or ID, along with their IP address?...... Huh.

I remember when I was far too young to be on the internet, anonymity was super important. As strange as it sounds, if a feature like this existed on a platform as popular as discord was back then. I would not be the person I am today, far from it. I gained crucial foundational skills and communicative strengths via the internet, even if my parents should've been paying more attention to my consumption.

I am all for protecting children on the internet, but at the same time I can't think that the people enacting this provision really care outside of a PR hassle. Anonymity for better and for worse is the standard of the internet, almost everyone in gaming and discussions have moved away from forum outlets and use discord, this impacts a lot of people.

There are also lots of concerns about Palantir, biometric security and data breaches, I share these concerns.
