I always thought it would be nice to get an EGO app for IOS/Android. Optimize the forums for the phone and maybe maul? I always get emails on thread reminders and really don’t like constantly signing in just to read them.

Also thought it would be cool to make EGO more accessible, but I definitely understand the development commitment and low need for it.

on IOS, you can add the forums to home screen by sharing the website from safari. it functions like an app and works well for me. (doesn’t have notifications tho)

not sure abt android there’s probably something similar for that

same on android, most browsers you can just open settings and add the "app" to home screen

and for notifications i don't think the forums have any type of browser notifications

Oh cool. It would be nice to maybe get browser notifications. I’m sure that would be easier than creating a whole app. Thanks for the insight

Hmmm... I can definitely look into this. There is a functionality for it but I think we have it disabled for some reason. I'll need to do more testing with it.

But yes, there is the ability to "install" the website as a PWA and it should be relatively optimized for mobile. Are there any specific gripes about the mobile version that I can look into?

Of course. I really don't have gripes with the current mobile version, other than the back button being finicky and either appearing or disappearing inconveniently, and no forward/recall button, its optimized really well. If notifications are possible I'd love to disable my email notifications for threads in the future.
