Vista+TF2=:'(

Vista, unfortunately, likes to play tricks on me. It likes to freeze Team Fortress at random times, but especially so after loading a second map. I suspect it has something to do with Vista not running/not closing certain processes when I start the game, but I'm a bit skeptical to end random processes.

So if anyone else has this problem/knows the solution to it, I'd be very grateful...

I doubt its vista. Maybe you don't have enough ram and when the server changes map, your tf2.exe or w/e it is (i dont have tf2 yet) will take more load and your ram cannot support it causing it to freeze. best thing i can suggest is to run msconfig and go to startup and remove programs you dont need. also look at www.blackviper.com for guides on services that you dont need running on vista

Makes sense, but I just bought a new computer with 4gb of ram so I that may not be the problem. This problem didn't happen on my older comp with considerably less ram. That is the only reason why I think Vista is the source of the problem, could be wrong though.

oh wow with 4 gigs ram shouldn't be the problem. Not sure what else can be the problem, I have vista home premium and never had any problems with compatibility issues

Vid card? Over heating? Do you overclock the CPU?

I haven't done any modifications to the CPU, but I'll list my computer's specs:
Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU [email protected] Ghz
4 gb RAM
nVIDIA GeForce 8800M GTS
