Big changes are coming to EdgeGamers CS2. @StealthGus has been hard at work developing a new framework that will overhaul how our servers run, recover after game updates, and support new content.
The biggest improvement for players: server stability. The move away from Counter-Strike Sharp is designed to dramatically reduce crashes and address longstanding problems that have demanded constant attention from our developers. The goal is simple: more time enjoying the servers, with fewer interruptions cutting your sessions short.
Breaking Free From Years of Technical Debt
Keeping our CS2 servers running has required a tremendous amount of work behind the scenes. Years of accumulated technical debt have made maintenance harder and pulled development time away from new features.
When discussing the challenges with the existing setup, @ShookEagle put it bluntly:
