[nh]Stress test this weekend![/nh]

How is everyone enjoying the new Harpertown box? It is the box with Goldrush and the 2fort Instant Spawn on it. Running ok we hope.

Well it should be since that is the newest box we have. It is a quadcore with 4 gigs of ram.

This weekend we are going to see if it can handle two more instances of TF2 on it.

So if you are around and you get a message in Vent, Irc, Xfire, Steamfriends, or in Game, please come to Kendle's aid! We need to see how this beast of a box handles 4 full TF2 servers before we order more of them.

Before we order more? That my friend, is another news post entirely.

haha i remember when we did a pyro party on one of the older boxes and when everyone used there air compressor to blow away stickies the server crashed, i wonder if these boxes can handle those.

How many instances you have running? I don't know much about host servers but a Quad can definitely run 2 TF2 game simultaneously. In my Pc TF2 takes about 40% of the maximum load and I've had other games open and tested playing on both just to see and it worked with only 80% load. Now if want to run 4 TF2 simultaneously you can try to set the affinity to each one to use only one core, that might be interesting I think it would handle them all.

The only thing that might probably lsow you down ad it did to me was the hard drive since I don't have a Raid config and only a 7200rpm HD it will get laggy if the games tend to access the hard drive simultaneously, at leats in my case that's how it is.

I have played well this morning and it lookis to be running pretty (well) lol keep up the great work and see yah later im going to the OC Fair but I will play both off and on all weekend.
