What's that crazy Kancho thing? Not a clan, not recruiting.

Hey guys. Yesterday I was asked by an admin not to promote the Kancho group. I wasn't, because the group doesn't recruit, except by blood or marriage.

When I was first asked about it, long ago, I explained here:

Kancho is not a clan. It's simply a tag that was worn by DangerDad, Bubbles and I as family members when we started playing TF2.

So, if someone on server asks us what it is, and we explain, we are not trying to recruit. We'd never engage in any activity that would be detrimental to eGO.
 
funny because I cannot get my brotehr-in-law (the person responsible for turning me onto TF2) to join eGO... :lol: much less have a family name... but a tag would give away our retarded jokes on the other servers (think Mario Kart... yes... I still play that!)
 
Hah, that's really funny. Everyone's style of play is different, but eGO really does offer a fantastic community for anybody who's interested in taking part.

I'll be honest, I haven't been able to get into Mario Kart. I've been on it a few times, but it just strikes me as odd!
 
I know a lot of people cannot get into it... but it is more of a stress relief than anything... if my usual servers are not being fun for me, I can go to MK and enjoy some time.
 
Yes, please pay attention to this, because this can be applied to every clan to plays on our servers. If someone asks about a clan, we can't just tell them not to ask. If they are interested, they are interested. They may ask a few questions. However, there will come a point where they may be asking too much or things that are just best saved for private discussion and that's when you have to realize it needs to stop.

Just a reminder to some and a new note to others, we've had Road Trips that involved us playing in other servers just to get our name out, so it would be a little hypocritical of us to prevent the same.
 
Good point, though I don't suggest letting other clans recruit.

The whole point of the post was that I realized it had been long enough that people didn't know [Kancho!] was an entirely silly tag and a group that does not recruit. Obviously we don't want clans or groups recruiting out of our clan or our server regulars.

Q. What is kancho actually?
A. Kancho is a prank played in Japan. It is similar to giving someone a wedgie, but involves a quick poke to surprise them, not yanking their chonies over their heads.

A. I'm not, but I may be turning Japanese. Let me check my MP3 folder.

Q. Who's in the Kancho group, and why does it exist?
A. Dangerdad and I both listen to a radio program on which we heard about the prank called Kancho. As light-hearted lads, we decided to create a group that would allow us to quickly find each other online and pick each other out quickly on server. When I addicted Bubbles to TF2 as part of my nefarious plan to get more play time in, she also became part of the group, since she's married to a Kancho member.

Q. Can I join Kancho?
A. Nope. I do have an unmarried younger brother and sister, but good luck finding them, since they don't play TF2. The group is only a family thing and only a joke. There's no real reason you'd want to join anyway.

Q. Is Kancho synonymous with pwnasauraus?
A. Depends on the Kancho. Dangerdad is pretty good, but I pretty much help raise everyone else's kill death ratio. I'm helpful like that.

Q. What about eGO?
A. eGO is the best gaming clan out there, and you should join it rather than running around poking people.

What games you play?

After that, you may want to restrict them and tell them to take it to a private discussion.
