Yo,

I have a question about what precautions i need to take for my laptop. Since i really didnt care about i really have no idea what to do if i take my laptop to school . So do you guys have any sugesstions for locks, lojacks, and other stuff . Thx a bunch.

there are locks that you can buy at like best buy or circut city. its ultimately like a bike lock and you like attach it to your desk and then theres something you attach to your laptop and then it liks bike locks into your desk in your dorm. that is what i do.

really - the best thing is common sense and a little precaution on your part. don't EVER leave your computer just sitting around somewhere. Don't let people (even friends) borrow it because once it leaves your hands you don't know what's going to happen. Get one of those locks and if you leave it in your dorm room go ahead and lock it down to your desk. And for goodness sakes, put a boot password somewhere on it, either in the BIOS or make sure Windows has a good password, so that someone (like your roommate) can't use it without your permission.

Most losts/thefts/"borrowed account problems" etc. can be avoided with the use of some good common sense.
