So i haven't really used my comp as a medium for movie watching in some time but last night I decided to pop Serenity in on a whim and watch it through my Comp.
Now there are 2 things i noticed that i didn't quite like.
First: The sound, it was lacking. I think it was the headphones, that's a problem for another day though.
Second and more importantly: Every so often the frame rate would drop. Now i'm running this in full screen and i'd venture a guess that my computer is at least decent. But every so often my frame rate will drop (ball park from ~25-30 fps to < 15 fps.) It's not a huge drop nor is it something i can't live with, but i've used my computer in the past (different/older machine) to watch a lot of anime and it held up just fine.
Is there anything i can do to prevent the Frame rate from dropping that i probably didn't think about before hand?
Keep in mind my current specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo at 3ghz
nVidia 8800gts(92)
2gigs A-data ram
(to avoid any ram hits, i'm using 32 bit xp pro.)
my older laptop, that ran anime and movies just fine, is a Toshiba satellite from 3 years ago. I really can't tell ya the specs, but they don't hold a candle to whats in this computer.
