help me PLZ!!

i am tryin 2 install FEAR and whenever i get 2 the 2nd disk my dvd drive just randomly fails. i restart my comp and got all the way 2 the 5th disk, then it crashed
can sum1 help me figure out y its crashing PLZ!!

Sounds like your CD/DVD drive is getting tired. Mine does that sometimes, to where after a lot of use, it decides to stop spinning. Do you have another drive you could try?

Or maybe it's just getting lazy, like typing in a forum like it's a cell phone text message?

hey i had a similar problem with a disc when i was backing up my windows vista disk (its alot harder to copy that stupid thing than you'd think....) anyway

i noticed there was a little bubble on the back of the disk (the part with letters,)

UH OH... thats where the info is at

Luckily i was able to press it down without ripping it off of the disk, and then tape it long enough to get it replicated..


so make sure the disk is valid



what kind of crash was it?

what happened?

what kind of error code was it?

Make sure you have the latest drivers. The reader on the actual drive could have gotten damaged. That happened to an external drive i had and caused similar problems.
