Looking to get a new Cable modem.

SO my Moto SB4100 is on the fritz with me. I suspect electrical shocks to it's system is causing it to randomly restart (everytime i touch the metal backplate on the thing i get shocked!)., and my internet will go down for a minute at random times (bad for gaming, of course).

Anyway since its going on the better part of 8 years and finally dying on me, i decided it's time to buy a new cable modem. But i need current, trusted opinions on what an appropriate modem would be nowadays.

Here's what you may need to know about my networking:
-My current service provider is TWC's Roadrunner service.
-I have a Wireless router: A Mac Airport Extreme
- http://help.rr.com/HMSFaqs/e_rr_modems.aspx- This is what i found on TWC's site about compatible Modems, but like the Matrix i'm wondering if this can be bent and/or broken :]
-I'm running Windows XP

Logically, wouldn't it be a good idea to go with something of the same brand? 8 years on any piece of computer hard ware is an extremely long life span.
