I couldn't play anymore after drunk admins called me inept. This was after hearing 45 minutes worth of mic spam about how drunk people were, racist remarks, politics, sexual jokes and other things that didn't belong on mic chat. I asked politely several times to keep the chat game related. I got mad. There was a lot of immature behavior going on and no one was intervening, when I got mad others chimed in against me and I just had to leave very frustrated.

I wanted to apologize for raising my voice. I don't like to get mad.

Curahee, I completely understood why you left earlier. When I came in, I heard the comments about me stopping "all the fun". Curahee, just because some one has an eG tag on should never stop you from expecting them to behave properly. In fact, they're supposed to be your role models in the servers.

The next time there's an issue like that, come get me, or any other eGO admin. I have no problem stopping "all the fun" again when it comes down to admins being abusive and racist in our own servers.

I for one would like to know what server and about what time this took place. If things were as you say they were you should post a ban on the admin. No one is above the rules!

I'm sorry I got mad and left Fluffy, I knew you'd put things in order or at least people would shut up and play with you around. I don't think you have a reputation for being tough on the rules, but people respect you, before you came in there was very little respect going on. I don't want to get anyone in trouble, I'm ashamed at myself for losing my cool and raising my voice, I thought I had a good game going at like 65/25 or something and the name calling was both uncalled for and childish. I would hope those involved feel ashamed for their actions and that'd be enough.

Gooooooooooooooooooooo Fluffy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stop the fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :)

Currahee, there is no problem in you raising your voice. You were frustrated that the very admins that were entrusted with running the server were out of control.

Little tip to admins... Don't go on servers if you are drunk or high. Doing so disrespects the clan and can affect your admin privs.

If you can remember the name of the drunk admins, PM one of the clan enforcers, Kamikaze Tommy, or Slayr357.

I apologise for your anger and frustration and hope your next session is better. Aside from the bad apple admins you met, eGO tries very hard to ensure our admins act mature and are a credit to the clan.

I know Redshift, every admin I've had contact with has not only been proficient in their duty but also cool and really fun to play with. I don't remember his name but I remember playing with him before and it was cool. He wasn't directly saying a lot, besides reminding everyone how drunk he was every couple minutes, but so much was being said by others. Is keeping voice chat game related an admin rule only? Looks like it is it's not in the server rules. Guess I've heard so many admins enforce that I took it as a standard.

You definitely don't need to apologize. Are you a lawyer? ;) I've lost no love for eGO

The voice chat aspect is kind of an elastic area. The basic rules are that there must not be mic spam, and that includes constant talk, sports-like commentary, and also abuse, racism, swearing etc.

Generally it is more of a common sense approach...if it starts to bug players, then it should stop.

...and also, admins are not above the rules. Not ever.

Thanks for mentioning this. eGO has quite a few servers and as a result, a large number of admins. Not all admins are of the same maturity level, age or temperment. Some may mess up once in a while (me included), but by and large the system works. When it doesn't, eGO relies on someone raising a red flag.

Remember that the log is your friend, so if you want to complain in-game about an admin's actions, use text rather than the mic. This way if there are any investigations to be done, the server log contains the text chatter.

I created an eGO FAQ a little while ago and council should put it on the forums as a stickie at some point.
