Why Strand server is not full

I beleive that the strand server is having problems filling is because that there is a problem with signing on it takes me and others sometimes three or four tries to get on the server when it's not full because of a problem with it not reconizing steam id's when you play people are forever getting kicked because of this problem. Could someone take a look at this problem? I have done all the steps Including uninstalling Steam and reinstalling and going into my security firewall and deleting all steam references and re approving all steam references but nothing works. There is a problem.:confused:
 
Yeah, it does the same to me. I usually restart Steam and it fixes the problem or stops it from doing it multiple times. Every time I'm on the server, I see people joining and being kicked off because of this problem, then they join back and think an admin kicked them or something. It's the only server that does this to me as well, not sure why.

Here is what the Steam website has to say about the error:

If restarting Steam does not resolve the issue, please exit Steam and delete the following files from your Steam directory:

Steam.dll
SteamUI.dll
ClientRegistry.Blob

By default, the files may be found at C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\ or C:\Program Files\Steam\ (the location on your machine will vary if you specified a different installation folder, or if you have moved your Steam installation).

I'v tried all these things and the next time I tried to log on it happened again.

Server is just messed up I guess, hopefully somebody will fix it. Is this the only eGO server that does this for you guys? I've only joined one other eGO server to play on and I had no problems, but I haven't played on any others so I don't know if the problem is just confined to this one server. Wonder if it has something to do with the server modification on strand that turns the losing side into tanks, tables, etc. at the end of the rounds? That's the only difference between this eGO server and the others, correct?

I don't know but your right this doesn't happen when I join ava or doner only Strand.
 
Just to chime in here too it also happens to me on flash, donner & kalt. I can have the issue multiple times in a row, shutting down steam, logging off, deleting files in between each one... but as soon as I try another server I seem to be good...
 
Yeah I've only had the problem with Strand, but it didn't really bother me because i'm not a huge fan of the Strand map anyway. I guess I haven't played it enough.
 
I kinda quit playing on Strand because it just got to me. I'd wait and wait and wait for an open slot and then when I try to join it kicks me. And I would have to keep doing that over and over again. After a while I just ended up playing DoD 1.3 and owning people on AVA with a m1 carbine.

Glad to know it's being worked on. :) It is a BIG problem on the Flash server, I know. I see ppl try to log in 3 times in a row, then apparently give up and probably go elsewhere. I suspect it could be affecting the server's ranking.

Personally, I read all the posts here and on the Steam website, tried all the suggestions, and still have problems logging in sometimes.
 
Its not any of eGO's servers that are causing the issue guys, its been happening on all DoDS servers since the update. Just check the steam forums out, not ever person who posts about invalid steam ID plays here.

Just log out of steam, log back in w/ user info and you should be good to go. Everyone has run into this issue. I usually will just rejoin the server 2-3 times and it'll just stop, the logging out trick works for a week or so.

Duality I went to steam and tried everything they suggested. I'm only reporting the problem here to make sure everyone knows to keep trying if they want to get on. Thanks for the info though.:)
 
nevermind another post answered my Q's....

The flash and strand servers are on the same box. It appears that the old box may not be able to handle the orangebox engine. We did some work on it last night. If this doesnt fix it will will have to update that box to one of the new harper town boxes. Let me know if we are still getting the errrors
 
Hey slayr, the flash server is the only other server that gives me the problem, maybe that is the problem. :o
