cyborg 5.1 volume settings

So i needed some new headphones. I bought some of the saitex cyborg 5.1 surround sound set that we gave away last month. MY problem i am having is they seem to work great with music. In fact too great. the volume output on them for music is alot higher then the output then in games.( only tested TF2). I have tried adjusting the wave volume on all the diffrent volume controls but that still doesnt help. I have my Wave volume set to maybe 5%. With those setting my music volume still over powers any game sound i am getting with thier settings at full blast. any help here from someone that got a set of these or bought one?


P.S. Using winamp as my music player.

i would either recommend lowering youre volume(in general) very low then putting youre game volume higher so that its louder than youre music

well i finally figured out how to lower my music volume enough. But now i am getting a ringing while in game. Its coming from the both the back speakers in the headphones i belive. Been searching cyborgs forums for some info but cant find any . no search function on thier forums . I am thinking maybe i just got a bad set of headphones with busted back speakers in them Hate to have to RMA

sent them an email. Waiting on reply. Was hoping maybe someone in the clan had an idea of how to fix the problem. So i could get back to playing faster

I don't know if this helps, but it might not be the headphones. It could be the sound card, it could be winamp, or even the operating system. Maybe the game isn't set up for a 5.1 sound setting...

Ah it does. But i am hoping this isnt the case. I forgot, until i got the headphones, that my onboard sound card got a little messed up during the install. So to be honest i think that is what might be cuasing this issue. since i cannot connect these to my sound card i might just have to return these and get my money back hopefully. If i have to do that it will be ok i just found a set of 5.1 headphones that can plug into my offboard card.So worst case i can just order a pair of those headphones.

I tested these on TF2 and COD4 both got the buzzing almost right away. TF2 would not have the buzzing when i set it on on headphones or 2 speaker mode.

Well i dont want to advertise on here but i found some 5.1 headsets with jacks for a 5.1 or better soundcard. So if you got an off board soundcard i can pm you a link to the site that has these headsets with the jacks and not just USB.

I almost went deaf the first time I plugged my Cyborg 5.1 headphones in and tried them out yep, they are LOUD

I saw on their site that you shouldn't plug in both the USB connector AND the green audio and pink mic conecctors; just plug in the USB and leave the others unplugged or you could get the ringing you are talking about.

I've used them in TF2, GRID, COD4, and for music, DVD's, and no problems yet. I've never plugged in the regular headphone jack, just the USB connector.

thanks ducttape io tried that setup alredy. it did get rid of the ringing noise when i was playing music. But i still get the ringing while in game( once the 5.1 hits in). I am actually probly just going to return this headset and buy one that will plug into my fancy 7.1 soundcard that i have instead of my onboard sound. Which the sound got messed up on when installing( which i think is cuaseing the ringing i am getting. But thanks for the suggestion.
