Cable Modem

I currently have an old Arris CM550A cable modem. I will be getting cable internet again here soon and was wondering if I would get better performance with a Motorola cable modem such as the MOTOROLA SURFboard SB5101. I had some issues with the old Arris modem droping the connection randomly and I would have to sit and wait for it to come back. The tech guy said that it was bad wireing in my building and that basically there was nothing they could do about it. I am in a new building now and hope this time it will be better. I will be using Comcast and getting either their standard with power boost (up to 12Mbps) or their Blast (16Mbps). If anybody has used either of these two, any thoughts on the topic would be nice.

I have a Belkin F5D8231-4 N1 Wireless Router that I will be using to connect 4 computers to the internet.

ya i recently upgraded to cable over dsl & the speed is awesome!! were using a motorola modem (which was a lil pain in the beginnin but ive gotten used to it). we dont use comcast tho, we use time warner & the package that we have is like 10mbps down (not sure what it is up tho). motorola does make good product tho, so i would suggest gettin the surfboard modem (unless they have other products that r better than the surfboard).
