What Motherboard for Intel?

I'm getting a Q9550 an not overclocking. So, I thought a Intel board would work better, also this is going with a DDR3 Corsair 1600mhz RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145200)
What do you guys think? One more thing, would this RAM (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227318) Work with that Intel Motherboard since the Intel only supports 1600?

I'd go with the ASUS board (if you are willing to spend the extra money) and the Corsair ram

What graphics cards do you have? Crossfire/SLI?

If you only have one and don't plan on Crossfiring or SLI, there's no reason to get the ASUS board. The Intel one will do you just fine.

The Gigabyte P35-DS3L is a very solid board. Has what you need, nothing else. OCs well, but you already said that you're not going to overclock, so that doesn't matter.\

DDR3 will work in DDR3 slot, you just might have to adjust the Mhz and volts in your BIOS to get stock settings though, depending on the SPD. Never used DDR3, so I can't say for sure.

Hey, I just spent the last few months building my own PC, and during that time looked into both of the motherboards that you linked.

The Intel DX4 looked good at first, but you'll notice that the graphics card slots are positioned oddly with the SATA slots. Therefore, if you were to get a larger series graphics card (such as around the size of an 8800 or higher...which I'm assuming you're doing) then it ends up covering some of the slots. This creates a major issue if you're SLI-ing. However, if you've decided on this motherboard, TigerDirect is doing a really good combo deal with it and a processor.

As for the second one, its way too expensive for what its giving you in return.

Since you seem intent on getting a motherboard that supports DDR3 (which, in all honesty, is pretty unnecessary) then I'd recommend:

It's the X38 model of the Asus you're looking at. It still supports DDR3, and moreover, is about 70 bucks less. (All other spec differences are negligible...we're talking fractions of a difference here.)

Of course, you'll have to go Crossfire with these.

Sorry for the double post, but I really really can't stress enough how DDR3 memory is completely unnecessary at this point.

The one's you've linked are stated as 1600 mhz, but in reality, they're clocked at the standard 1066. That being the case, you can get a perfectly equal DDR2 at 1066. Example:

Moreover, its nearly 130 dollars less. The only difference is the latency, and with that, you're talking "real-world" milliseconds, literally.

Thanks for the info guys. Gooda, I'm gettin g 4870/4870X2. And as far as DDR3 goes, I want absolutely overkill that way I don't have to future upgrade in 3 weeks. I also read the Intel DX48 reviews.. kinda pushing but can't argue with the price. So the 1800mhz would work in the DX48, I would just have to set it at 1600?

Any frequency will work in it, provided your DIMMS can run at that speed.

My motherboard *supports* DDR2-800, but I've ran at DDR2-1150 for a suicide bench.
