The blog got updated showing the new pyro card. If your too lazy to click the link, it says this:

"Only two things are known for sure about the mysterious Pyro: he sets things on fire and he doesn't speak. In fact, only the part about setting things on fire is undisputed. some believe his occasional rasping wheeze map be an attempt to communicate through a mouth obstructed by a filter and attached to lungs ravaged by constant exposure to his asbestos lined suit. Either way, he's a fearsome, inscrutable on-fire frankenstein of a man. If he even is a man."

I guess Valve still wont tell us =P

The pyro is a girl, Valve needs to come up with some story in the next month to explain it. Its buggin me out @_@ I wanna know why they keep "its" identity so secretive.

Because they're laughing at everyone seriously discussing the gender of the Pyro.

What they mean by "If he's even a man" is that they wonder how much man is left in him after turning into a homicidal, insane, fire-blasting freak. He's just so warped he's not even human anymore. Possibly.

Also, how would the pyro be a girl? There's nine characters, 8 of whom are men. It wouldn't make sense. Also, refer to the scouts bio; "He trained himself to run so he could beat his 8 brothers to the battle". Of course it's referring to the 8 other characters, of whom are men.

I think the pyro is actually a highly-evolved pygmy hippopotamus. He has to wear the suit to avoid insults from the other teammates. The heavy, for instance, would be incredibly against anyone being on the team who is more hungry, hungry than he.

valve just likes doing lil things and see who picks them out.

like in the Demomans Bottle.. theres a picture of a female in it, but that isn't so noticeable as the "purse" for the pyro's locker

They aren't going to tell us...ever. They are going to make us think they will tell us, then they won't. :)

How do you explain the fact that each character is a different nationality? I doubt the scout's parents could be Scottish, Australian, Russian, and German, with three American sons who happen to have accents from different parts of the nation.

Each child was separated early in their lives, and scattered to each respective country, where they were assimilated into the respective culture. Oh, and the Demoman was the result of a love affair with the milkman.

Pyro is neither man or woman, it's just a mysterious being in a suit and Valve wants him to stay like that.

Although nothing would be hotter than a woman going around setting people on fire, the pyro's voice sounds too manly.
