With the bonus gone

I think the nerf was not only characterfull, but sensible too. No longer is the ambush aptly used by running at soldiers and living, but will now want to try and think tactically. As a spy I endorse any form of Pyro nerf, and I have my eye on ridding them of that pesky flamethrower too.

In my opinion as someone who play on warpath and as a pyro i do love the AB but it is a little too powerful. I can easily ruin ubers by using the AB. Theres no other class that can do that so maybe Valve wanted to add a better use for the pyro besides spychecking. The AB is very dangerous in the hands of more skilled pyros but the less skilled players won't know how to use it as well. Even though i love the pyro and the AB i think they need to either make it use a lot more ammo or have like a reload time. It ruins the idea of having ubers if a pyro can block multiple ubers from doing anything in a single life. If one class can do that that means its unbalance and needs fixed. I dont see demos or soldies screwing up ubers nearly as much or as bad as pyros due to their reload time. I The AB is a great idea but it just needs a minor tweak. Maybe even if they change how far the AB pushes you that could help out a great deal as well but anyways thats my 2 cents about it.

Well, Soldiers have their rocket jump and Demos have their pipe bomb jump. It'd only be fair to give the Pyro his jump. :D The Heavy is too fat.. so no jump for him... :(

Rumor I heard... but I heard Valve said they tried compression jumping and it didn't work... and I'm glad it didn't, they could jump without forcing self-damage like a solly/demo, would probably cause balance issues, and wouldn't make sense as far as physics and logic goes (though nothing in this game does, so yeah).

it would be anoying if a pyro does get copmpresion jump but if he gets it he has to hurt himself like everyone elses lol sounds kind of harsh

compression blast ... although i hate it being used one me when ubered, i love givin' them a dose of hot air right back. Besides, the random crits come in handy when you just drop into the middle of a crowd.

Ah man. As a medic, the air compression drives me nuts. Tis very easy to get hung up by a pyro working with an sentry gun -- warpath has many pinch points. The alt fire does a great job of clearing out stickies as well, and has an interesting impact on those shooting rockets with the reflection. Never messed much with the back biter... but don't fear it on Warpath.

I can't say how many times I've been a heavy, a pyro runs straight up to me, and airblasts me instead of flaming me. Most of the time, I'm just like
?!?!?!?!
Why the hell would you even DO that, it just gives me more time to kill you, but they still insist on attempting to airblast a person.

CB/AB just needs a slightly tweaked "cool down" period between blasts, I think...

i personally like the compression blast without the extra 50 hp i personally dont like the BB (less hp+no compression blast=fail)

Personally i prefer the blast. But right now the other night i got the backburner. Yes im slow just started playing pyro again. Ive been on 3 seperate nights, and the backburner does not seem to be working for me.

As in no crits from behind. Yes im directly behind the person, and no extra health. So ive just stuck with the blast. I find it can really help when a uber demo comes in trying to take a sentry out. You can either blast the stickies round the sentry. Or keep pushing the demo back.

As a Demo, I'm laughing when a Pyro wastes his ammo to move my stickie traps .... not like i don't have more where that came from, and one primed to hit you in the face on your way around the corner :oP

But yeah, as a diehard Warpathian, the Compression Blast has led to so many more stalemates than usual. It's nice to move around stickies and reflect rockets at those pesky soldiers who have impeccable aim, but I don't think you should be able to smack around a opponent like a volleyball.

Final verdict: Keep the Compression Blast, just make it work only on projectiles, not people.

I'm not a big fan of the blast because I like to get around my opponent and hit him from the back. The BB's back crits are just the icing on the cake for me.

Stealth is essential for the backburner, on ctf i like it, but on cp the air blast works much better, the +50 hp was nice though

for me it depends on the situation and map...most times I use backburner when defending and OG for attacking.

I live to amubush when defending and the compression blast is great while on offense. Its all up to the player.

That's my opinion too.

The compression blast does a good job of negating ubers, which is leading to more stalemates.
