I don't like being the only "e" on a server because theres always those two guys that are gonna swear and stuff, and all I could do was give them a warning. But they dont listen to me. One time I actually had to go on another server and get an eGO to ban them because of how disrespectful they were being.

If any of you have a problem, got ahead and invite me to the game. I will kick the unruly player. If he returns we will contact an eGO to drop the banhammer. You should have quite a few eG's and eGO's on your friends list. If you are part of the Edge Gamers group on steam you can click that on your friends list and you see all the e's, eG and eGO's. Feel free to contact me anytime you need some help with obnoxious, non rule abiding players.

hey guys, always add an eG or an eGO to your friends list for these issues. and remember it is summer and alot of members have jobs/summer school/vacation, so theres going to be a shortage of admins at a time. but remember you can always type status into the console, get the SteamID from the person who is causing trouble, and request a ban.

I know I have responded to people sending me messages and taking care of people who needed to be kicked.

In certain cases people will log when they see an admin come on.
Vent is also a great place to go if you need help. I know you can't always alt tab in game, but that's where you will typically find someone with authority on to help.

Either way if you are ever in a pinch, just add me to your friends list and I will help whenever I can.

Steam is the best because you can call someone right in the game, do not have to tab out or quit. Just press Shift + Tab and steam pops up. You can chat with anyone on your friends. My steam is on most of the time. Being an e do not try to admin and always make sure to ask politely with please and thank you. If you have informed them of the rules you have done your part. If they keep doing call an admin and take a condump with status.

Hey everyone. I thought we (and by we i mean e members) are allowed to warn and enforce rules. And if that person fails to abide by the rules we take screenshots of the offenses and then request a ban

As far as I know e's are allowed to give warnings. I've been told by admins in the past to let them handle the situation, but that's been when I hadn't noticed an admin around (the admins usually aren't on the scoreboard ).

Xioyn: Here is what you need to do for the condump, plus one other thing that is IMMENSELY helpful: Open your console, defaults to the tilde key (the one just left of the #1). The first command you need to enter is "status". This will get a list of all players, and their SteamID's. Then, type in the command "condump". Your game will hang for a moment as the file is created, but after this it's business as usual. You can find the condump here: "Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\<your username>\Team Fortress 2\TF\" and it will be called "condump001.txt" for your first condump.


jschmidt, when you are the highest-ranking eGO member in the server, then it is your job to enforce the rules as best you can. However, if there is an eG or eGO on the servers, let us handle them. If you see something that needs addressing, you can notify any admins in game by using Admin chat. Bring up the team chat window, then have the @ symbol as your very first character, then type the message: @message. If done correctly, YOU WILL SEE NOTHING. You can tell us what you need to, but until you are an eG, you will not be able to see what was typed.


One thing I would recommend: Attend as many clan events as you can, it's a GREAT way to get eG's and eGO's on your friends list, for when you need some admin work done.
