Hey guys, this thread is to see how many of us are Metallica fans. I've been talking to some people about them and 90% say they don't like them. Here are some of their songs

Softer Metallica: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbKM_VAbd5o[/ame]
Harder Metallica: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zbuk96kW9LM[/ame]

These guys are my favorite band!

I like all of their song all the way up until after the black album, and even after that i like some of their songs, except for all of St. Anger. I'm also liking the way that the new album is sounding. So yes i like Metallica

Oh, yes, I should probably say that. I like a bunch of their stuff, but I prefer their older stuff.

I sadly don't have any use for metallica. Why? The soft stuff... eh. whatever. It's not a big deal, and frankly, I can go softer if I'm feeling that way.

As for the hard stuff, it isn't hard enough for me. I can go much more with stuff like children of bodom, or rhapsody of fire. (if you want links, just ask).

sadly, that leaves metallica as something in the middle that doesn't really work for me.

Old metallica rocks
New metallica sucks.. I think thats how to describe it :)

i can't believe this is even a question: There are people that don't like metallica? wtf?

nah but yeah i like them, the Black album is probly my favorite. but i like pretty much all of it. there are several of the "new" songs that aren't "great" but most everything else is.

Pre-black album: Metallica = Amazing
Black album: Metallica = Decent
Everything after that besides Garage Days = Not so great.

I listen to their first four albums constantly. My son (he's 5) knows all the words and sings along to most songs from the first four because we listen to them so much.

St.Anger...the music is great, but James' singing is horrid since the Black ablum. He's "singing" too much instead of letting it go like he used to. Bob Rock ruined him. I have to admit I haven't listened to all of St.Anger or Re-Load.

Cryptopsy, Cattle Decapitation, Dying Fetus, and Cannibal Corpse ftw. ;-)

The question is do you like metallica. The answer is no. They were good before they sold out.

Sold out? They never sold out. They got tired of squeezing as many riffs into a song as possible. After ...and Justice for All they got sick of playing 9 minute songs in concert and wanted to write shorter songs. If you go back to the very first album, you will see that they've always had catchy choruses and all that.

They've never sold out; they've just done what they wanted.

Selling out is making music someone else wants you to make in order to get paid. They never did that. I'm so tired of hearing the "sell-out" thing with Metallica. No matter what you think of them, they are one of the longest-lasting, most influential bands in history. You can't really say much about that.

ninja star? is that whats on your avatar?

Yep.

Metallica did not sell out. Considering the majority does not like their 91 and later stuff, how is that catering to the masses that entails 'selling out'?

I would also like to point out that, more then once, they were called sell outs before 1991. They 'sold out' when they did "Fade to black" (OMG A SONG WITHOUT DISTORTION WTB?!?!), and then 'sold out' again when they shot a video for "One" (OMG MOVING PICTURES?!?!?!).
