Help Again Come on in!!

Long story sorry for the bad puncation and grammer...

Alright well it all started when hurricane dolly hit my apartment got washed up. In the midst of my apartment getting about 1 foot of water I saved the computer before the water could get close unhooked it etc...
Bailed out the front door and couldnt come back till 3 days later...
Computer was still high and dry.. maybe humdity? anyway... moved in with my husbands parents due to unliveable apartment...
Plugged in my computer setup monitor etc... no picture ... what??! alright maybe something went wrong after hooking it up... double checked ok... maybe its the video card... pulled it out found out that there was popped capicators on it... no biggie... (out goes the 7600 gt) throw that out got a old 7300 gs i had lying around... in it goes and computer back up and running...
fast forward to today got a 8500 gt.
Got that one in and it doesnt show a picture as before.. Hmmm
Maybe I have a DOA card?.... Put back in the 7300 gs and that one also does not show a picture...
Went back into my pile of computer stuff got a motherboard designed for my processor amd athlon dual core etc... put everything in... booted that up with the 8500 gt and there is picture! it runs through its post test...
Got a error message about the floppy disk..well my computer doenst have one anyway... and also has my hard drive listed under slave? shouldnt show up like that... but no jumper on the type of hard drive i have... press f1 to continue... pressed f1 xp loading window shows up yay... looks like its going to work... then all of a sudden brief blue screen of death! flashs so fast i cant catch what it says... and back to the beginning again where it does its post all over... argghhhh!! im so frustrated right now i walked away and left it alone and im planning on going to bed hopefully one of you will give me a idea of what to do next... thanks for reading it...

Update:
After more fiddling around with the computer trying to have it boot from the xp cd and repair any problems the computer is stating that there is no hard drive attached... now I am at a loss on how to get it to repaired unless the hard drive itself is bad which is a distinct possiblity...

So is the blank monitor issue taken care of now and replaced with the issue of a missing drive or do you still have the blank monitor issue?

when you start up next time keep hitting F8 key for this will bring up your bios. In the bios you can remove your floppy drive and fix that problem, and also check to see whats listed there for your hard drive. Have you ever gone into your bios before? What mother board do you have. What hard drive do you have and is it sata or ide. With all the parts being changed and moving of the computer you may want to check to see if any of the hard drive connections have come loose by unplugging them and replugging them in.

your old 7600gt card may be covered under warranty, It never hurts to have a back up card and it also sounds like you have enough parts to build a back up computer.

the reason for checking your bios is that the old computer that the motherboard was hooked to has its bios settings. So that is why its saying you have a floppy drive error. It is why your hard drive is showing as a slave and unless you change the settings to the correct ones it won't find a drive to boot from.
