Foreward: I didn't want to make this tutorial text and pictures, because I actually had thought up a good video and whatnot. However, me being me, I used one of those free recorder things, it literally crammed my video with watermarks. Ah well. THIS IS FOR PLAYER SOUNDS ONLY. I don't have the script to making gun sounds, however, if you find it, I will love you.

Getting Started: For this tutorial, you will need a good audio editing program. I personally reccomend this, but there's some other good ones too. You will also need the sound clip.

1 Okay, lets get started! The first thing you will need to do is open the sound file your going to use, and if you're using a long audio sample, then you need to use the select tool (1) to select a certain portion of the song, and then copy and paste it to a clean slate.

Now that you got your sound clip, I would personally suggest making it as loud as you can without getting bad quality. The reason behind this is that the script that allows you to put them in-game makes the sound quieter. Go to Effect -> Amplify (2) to increase the sound.

3 Okay, here is where it gets tricky. You first off, in your:

Team Fortress 2 -> TF folder, you'll want to make a folder called "scripts". Then download this file, and put it into your new script folder.

After that, you want into the file you just downloaded, and find the name of the sound file you want to put your sound of. In this situation, I want to make it play a song whenever I uber/get ubered. So I'll be naming my sound clip invulnerable_on.wav file.

4 Okay, almost done! Simple, right? Anyways, when the file is nice and loud, but still sounds good, you want to export it as wav into your:

Team Fortress 2->Tf->sounds->player folder

I'll take this time to tell you, IT HAS TO BE EXPORTED AS WAV OR IT WON'T WORK!

If you are missing any of the above folders, then go ahead and create them, it'll still work. Now, in the sounds->player folder, save the audio wav as the file needed, again, in my case, invulnerable_on.wav.

Now, go into the game, and there you have it, if you did everything right, your own custom sound should be there.

Thanks for reading this!
