Ok im usin Comcast High speed internet with a belkin router. only thing thats goin is my ps3> router modem>router and Cable> router. ((>=Into)) ok while im playin Tf2 or loading youtube or doin anything on the internet on my pc it will be very slow or laggy cause i might be downloading something on my ps3 or friend playin online with my ps3 but seems to always slow my pc down.:eek:
my router isnt good so im lookin for a better one or anything that can fix this prob. so i cant run anything from my router at once if i wanna play ps3 online no one can be using my internet on my pc or it will slow down and i dont kno why does anyone kno how to fix this lol :eek::eek:
 
try updating or flashing new drivers for your router, if not try looking for a linksys router the wrtg one or w/e it was you can find it on newegg its legendary router
 
try checking your connection speed (speedtest.com or something like that). Usually trying to download major packages and using the internet or gaming means you need to set priorities to slow one down in benefit of the other. I know I can't game and download at the same time with cable internet.
 
do you have access to your router passworded with wep or wpa. If not some one else could be stealing your signal. If your router allows you to set only certain computers to connect to it then set it to do so (thus others wont be able to). If you are getting your internet over a cable line then all the tvs going use up the incoming bandwidth as well. do what the person suggested above set your router to make your computer the priority user. Make sure you have a direct line into the house to the router not one that has been split to share it with tvs ect. Thats all I can think of now.

buying a new router won't help because its not probably the problem. But a router that offers gaming mode might help since you can set the router to reconize certain games and devote more bandwidth to the computer when that function is happening.

keep in mind that a faster router a 108mb/s over a 54mb/s router will not speed up your internet for you only have 5, 10, 15 mb/s coming into the cable. It will allow you to share files between two computer on the same network quicker.

you didn't say for sure if your computer was hooked to the router by lan cable or wirless.
 
it sounds like your PS3 is just taking up most of the bandwidth of your internet connection. my suggestion would be to disconnect it from your router while you're using your computer, then re-connect it when you want to play on the PS3.
 
also see if you modem is in anyway related to the problem, because a lot of time resetting my modem fixes a lot of my internet problems, but you should probably disconnect your ps3 when you are on you computer and vice versa to devote more bandwith to w/e is more important
