Raid XP Pro or Vista

I just got 2 Segate Baracudas 250GB and I plan on putting them in a raid 0. I used to have XP Pro on my computer and I am currently using Vista Ultimate. I haven't decided which I will install when I put in the raid setup. I'm leaning toward XP Pro just because of the lower system resources use. I want to hear your opinions.

well me personally, i love vista, so i would just go with that... but if you want to use it for lower system resources, i would go with xp...

I personally am not a fan of Vista. If it were my system I would go with XP Pro.

Do Vista. With XP, you have to mess around with RAID drivers and a floppy drive. Too much hassle.

Yea I'm thinking like you said Havegooda. I noticed that I would have to get out a floppy drive and such to get the drivers for xp to work. It would probably be worth it but man what a pain in the. Vista would be easy bc I have the drivers on my flash drive already.

Well I got the setup done today. I went with Vista Ultimate. Swaping out my Maxtor 320GB 8MB cache drive with 2 Segate baricudas(250GB each 16MB cache) in Raid 0. I have noticed some speed increase in loading games. The vista rating for Disk Data Transfer Rate went from 5.6 to 5.9. Not sure that that really means much but for those who take interest in this here is my performance gains I guess. Now if only I had gotten a better processor...

I think you made a good choice, Storm. I don't know how much of a difference 5.6 to 5.9 is, but Vista should not give you much trouble. I honestly don't know why people hate Vista so much.
