winamp volume

I am trying to figure out how to keep my winamp volume control from control ling my volume in other programs.I was wondering if anyone knew a way to fix this issue. Just got a new set and this started happening. Have them plug in through my offboard soundcard (HT Omega Striker 7.1). My headset is a turtle beach Ear Force HPA2.

I seem to remember that if you go into the options and set your 'output' to the DirectSound option, you won't have this problem anymore. It has been a while since I used WinAmp though. If you don't have a strong affinity for it, you might try VLC or foobar2000, both are decent audio players.

yea i second vlc but its one of the best for video rather i recommend aimp 2 as a media player its awesome and has given me no problems so far
