Call Of Duty 4 for Steam

Well my Bday is coming and i'm thinking about getting Call Of Duty 4 for Steam -Do People play CoD4 online with steam -Or should i just go with the CD-*I have seen the SP mode of CoD4 i seen MP modes for the pc but i dont know if its Steam or not-

It makes no difference whatsoever if you buy it from steam or not.
It's the same game, the only difference is that it's in your steam games list and you don't have a CD/DVD.

Hey there, indstead of doing that, you could just choose the option to put a non steam game, to your list.
Then you can start it from steam, and acces your friends

Yeah, if you buy it from a store, its just less money from when you buy it on steam, I'd rather get it from a store NOT on steam because imo... it runs faster.

I would suggest you buy it in the store. 1 its cheaper 2 steam will auto update your CoD4 for you whoch is a pain in the ass if you want to play on eGo servers. eGO run linux servers and the linux files can come out upto a week after the windows files. Meaning you are left with no eGO server to play on for a few days when updates come out. Also Downlaonding CoD4 off Steam can take a whole day.

I purchased my copy on steam, and it works just fine. I don't play it multiplayer too often, though, so it doesn't really matter if steam auto-updates it. If you can get it cheaper in-store, though, go for it. No reason not to...

eh, if you plan on playing multiplayer much, you'd better get it retail from the store.

Usually you can get it from stores for cheaper. For ex: I bought CS from futureshop (it included day of defeat source and half life 2 dm) for $20. These same 3 games labeled valve's multiplayer pack was sold for $30 on steam and CS alone is $20. However for TF2, it was $30 in futureshop and $20 on steam. Wherever you can get a better deal buy it from there
