Counter-strike source frequency 1.0 ghz

After starting up cs source, I checked my console, says the same details everytime,

2 cpus, Frequency 1.0ghz

this cant be right,here are my specs:

- Amd Dual-core 64x2
5000+
- 2.6ghz
- 3gb ram

Shouldnt the frequency match my specs?
if so, how can i fix this?

C&Q is supposed to reduce the cpu frequency and voltage when the demand is low.
That's how it saves power.

Some have seen issues where it can interfere with certain games. If this is happening to you,
you can look into power mgmt options and disable the savings.

If it's not bothering you, best to leave it as-is.

I had a problem with my laptop doing that. i didnt have any problems at all. CS:S uses low cpu usage and more memory i believe anyway. i found that in this link:
