Hl2.exe has stopped working. Help!!!

Hey my friend is having problems. everytime he tries to run team fortress 2 he gets the error hl2.exe has stopped working. We have tried uninstalling and re-installing team fortress 2 and nothing works. If anyone could that would be nice. lol

did you properly unistall from steam or did you delete the tf directory?

you may want to go to directory
C:\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\*username*

and delete the "team fortess 2" folder entirely then run/install via steam

If he is on a laptop he may be using Intel's integrated graphics, which don't work well with many games.
