TF2 would be better for funnies, and I have a registered version of Hypercam, which doesn't have any branding on it unlike Fraps.

I'd be glad to help if I can. I don't have any useful filming or editing skills/software but if you want help with a script or just need "actors" I'd be glad to help. (I can play any of our clan's games except COD4.)

As for a storyline idea, keep in mind one thing. If it's going to be a comedy, you don't want one central idea so much as you do many smaller ideas. You might not want a well-developed storyline, or else the viewers could think you were actually trying to make a serious movie and failed miserably. The best thing would probably be a comically disjointed movie driven by one-liners and slapstick. Even if you do decide to have a central theme, if it's a comedy it has to be joke-driven, one after another. If you don't have any jokes or anything else that fits the bill, this will probably be a hard process. What makes or breaks a movie is the details. Nonetheless, you gotta get a script out first, then spell out the coreography and film angles of the thing, and only then get people together to act it out. Anything else would likely make for a second rate movie, in my experience.

HL2 Has its own way of recording stuff.

Firstly you will have to record a demo of what you want, then actually record it properly. It takes TGA's which you can either import into Vegas or use VDub.. Its complicated..
