i play drums for 2 yrs and would like to share musical ideas with other people and talk about music basically..... maybe trade a few songs here and there .. or start an online band =D... who knows lol....... steven out....

I've been playing bass guitar for a couple years now. What kind of music do you usually play?

I play 12 instruments (if you include vocals) starting with trombone in 5th grade

Theremin (coolest instrument EVER!)
Piano
Guitar (I tend to play this as a bass that's one octave up, but still can play chords and other guitar-esque things.)
drums (the most recent development)

Not exactly sure what you mean by "discuss music." I just play my music, words barely play into unless I'm singing. But hey, If you can specify more on what you mean, I'm sure I'll be open to it.

Been playing guitar for 3 and half years, I also play piano and bass guitar.
I use alot of software based programs to make music as well.
Reason and Ableton Live are some of my favorites.

Right now I am trying to finish a EP.

I have a myspace for my music. I too wanted to talk about music in here, so I feel ya man lol.

I could take the samples and try throwing whatever over them.

by talking i mean... what got you into it influences , your styled, your philosophy of music.....do you consider music to be your life(well and eGO) would you rather play music than do something else????who you consider to be the greaters musician out there? dead or alive...bands....

anything that involves music basically.....

this is me , my influence are Death , megadeth , pantera , slayer , artic monkeys , muse , modest mouse , tool , radiohead , a lot of spanish salsa , los prisioneros , mana , enanitos verdes ... As you can tell i have many styled of music ... As i see if you stay in one genre of music or styled you wont achieve anything from just sticking to it...i always say Open your mind to everything around you and you will learn something and become the best out there...

i Would give anything to be on my drum set 24/7... stop to get on the forums or vent and kill a few friends.. but music is life for me..music is my air and water , without it jeez i go MAD!!!!!

As for me i think the greates musician out there was Chuck Schuldiner with this amazing vocals , mind-blowing lyrics , and wicked guitar solos.... he sang and play about everyday life problems..but with anger and passion....he pass away on december 13 , 2001.. all because of cancer..stupid cancer..

Yeah, that's so true about musical diversity.
ALL genres of music have so so so much to offer.

What inspired me to pick up a guitar was probably Jimi Hendrix.
He was one of those people who were widely available to everyone.
Everyone has a chance to listen to Jimi.
After I started playing though, my influences to get better started changing. I started listening to Steve Vai, John Petrucci, and all those great shredders
Now I have shifted from the "fast players" to the more soulful ones.
I now enjoy listening to Eric Johnson, Carlos Santana, and Frank Gambale.

The computer music is another story completely though.
I did not have a influence to start with. My friend made me get it lol
So as time went on I started listening to electro artists.
Daft Punk, Justice, Simian Mobile Disco, The Toxic Avenger, Sebastian, Mr. Oizo, Mr. Flash.
All those people are inspiring me right now to take my music to new heights.

But yea that's about it for influences.

I play the guitar. started i guesse about 13 years ago. love righting my own music rather than spending alot of time learning other songs.. also play a little bit of drums,bass,piano...

Demise I feel exactly the same way man! Everything I play on guitar is self made.
It feels so good having someone listening to you and saying "Who made that?".

would anyone be willing to start a project just for show ...we seem to have everything here vocals, and instruments.... you as to someone starts a recording for example guitar, then send the recording off to another guitarist and let him to his own.. then basses/drummer/vocals and everything else...to make a collage lol..

I am a jazz/classical musician. Just want to say that right off. However, Death metal certainly isn't bad to listen to.

I have played the clarinet for 7 years, and I will be going to university in a year for a musical performance degree. I am a woodwind specialist. I know about the flute, all saxes, and of course, my specialty is the clarinet.

I teach music, and I also play with my jazz trio/quartet. I've had a few paying gigs now.

I also write music. both jazz heads and classical music.

So.. what do you want to talk about? Music is my profession, and It's something I would LOVE to talk about.
