photbuckets of problems

So im having a problem with photobuckets image links. I made this signature for my self and when i uploaded it and posted it, it was a fraction of the original size. so one of my clan members first told me this:

You pasted the code for the thumbnail. Need the direct image text. and ad IMG tags at the end

then he posted the exact text i needed to type and it showed up the right size.
since then ive made a signature for someone else and ran into the same problem. im a newb at posting images and need more elaboration than that so if anyone can give me a good answer as to whats going wrong i would love it.
