Should DOD:S add a shotgun?

Umm hard to say.. Shotgun for the US side was only used sparingly for clearing out trenches.. Cant think of Germany every using a shotgun for WWII

I think if your going to add a weapon, it should be something that is balanced. The Grease Gun and the German FG ( I think that is what it was.) As Chocolate Hero pointed out, the Germans didn't use a shotgun all that much.

I would love a shooty as a side arm as well. Man the shotgun is the best. Cannot go wrong with it at close quarter combat.

Tore on the decision with this one.

It's no doubt I would LOVE to see a shotgun class, but at the same time, it's accuracy will have to be horrible in ranged fights, of course the job of shotgun is to do close quarter fights but maybe we can add it as a secondary/optional weapon?

At the same time, as history points out, shotguns were pretty much one of the least used weapons during WW2 as well.

Maybe maps like dod_flash, dod_kalt (which I personally consider small maps) it would be appropriate. I would even want to almost throw dod_avalanche into that mix.

In final I would have to go with no, but it is a very hesistant one.

It would be interesting for the USA. But for the Germans not so much they would have to find something to balance with it. I think it would be fn for the usa but impractical Short range slow speed weapon...what would the germans balance with. In the end it would be fun, but not practical.

I would rather see bayonets, and such before a shotty.
I don't think it would work, myself. Plus, Valve is likely not going to add any new *content* to DoDS.
