Aren't those BIONIC projects? nvidia cards do a lot better in Folding@home. ATi cards really shine in bionic.

I was thinking mostly Vantage, and 06 (maybe crysis)

I didn't even OC my 470's, because they were too hot already.


And third 470 might be postponed as I might need a laptop.

Yeah these are BIONIC, I'm bionicing on cpu and also gpu, I'll try F@H as soon as the xtremesystems supercomputer week is over. :)

nvidia is pretty much worthless for bionic. If you want to continue BIONICing, i suggest AMD 5XXX cards.

But the GTX 480s DESTROY at F@H whereas AMD cards fail hard.

Hyper 212+ with Coolermaster R4's, It's a great little cooler :)

Plus, I don't even think going from 3.4 to 3.8 would give you much more fps.. really is no need in games, for video rendering or AutoDesk its a different story.

Running a 955 with a 9800GT.... No bottlenecks at all, so save money on your powerbill, and hopefully you could upgrade to sandybridge :D
 
i was also looking at at the Hyper 212, but from reading the the monster mugen is like 3 degrees c better lmao, i cant believe it makes the difference to me, and on 3dmark06 the difference from 3.4 to 3.8 is quiet a bit....at stock 3.2 i score 4432, @3.4 score is 4714, and @3.8 score is 5297, and according to the numbers @4.0 it should be somewhere around 5500, mainly im overclocking in preperation to the gtx470 im going to get in about 2months(waiting for christmas sales lol)

Zalman is my default cooling solution when I can't find something else. I currently have a CNPS9700 LED from them, which can be viewed here http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=164. It maintains my CPU heat at around 38C, it is a touch loud without ASUS QFan turned on though (not a problem in gaming, mostly just quiet scenes in movies)

I also have this model http://www.zalman.co.kr/ENG/product/Product_Read.asp?idx=144 (the VF900-Cu) on my backup Geforce 7900GS. I am debating removing that GPU cooler and installing it on my Geforce 8800GTS 640MB that's currently in my rig. Any thoughts?

How hard do u overclock ur video card would be the main factor i would think, what processor do u have, i like the temps, but, without knowing what cpu, it kinda does me little good lol, i run my 9800 oc@ 700core, 1625Shader, and 1000 for my ram, and thats on a stock bfg cooler, and my temps max out around 75c on my vid card

I would overclock it to its max stable setting if I had a proper cooling solution.

Stock 513\792\1188, I've had it at 600\900\???? stable, and I know I've had the first number in the middle 600's the second just under 1000.. I'm using the method of finding the max stable settings for the first two clocks and then adjusting the last by 12 until it crashes, then backing down a setting.

I'd like to run it at something like 700\1050\XXXX<--(something awesome, naturally). I think its possible, or a near level of OC is at least, but I would need better cooling, probably a touch of volt mod and a bit more reading. The GPU is an EVGA GeForce 8800GTS with 640MB of memory.

My processor is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Windsor running at 2.0GHz (stock). It would seem there are two varieties of my particular processor (at least) and I'm having difficulty determining which one it is without pulling my HSF off (which I'm trying to avoid, though I have some more thermal paste). I guess the only real differences between them are TDP and voltage. According to CPUZ, I'm only putting 1.120v to it, which is an incorrect number for either variation of my chip. I should be seeing like 1.2-1.30\.35 I believe. I'm wondering if the bios settings have it undervolted a bit and it is affecting my ability to get it beyond a 200mhz OC.

lol i feel ur pain, i tried gaming on my netbook lol and it kinda worked, if u could handle 30fps with BAD spikes into the 5's lol, i play dod:s btw

It's BIOS. I will give (afk checking profile...) 20k CC to whomever can answer waht that stands for (without cheating) in the next 120 seconds. Contest has ended.

basic input/output system lol i cheated tho so no cc needed, it was driving me nuts until i looked it up, figured i save some1 else the google time lol
