Rumoured list of new heavy weapons. Listed boxing glove before it came out.

Or... perhaps Valve went ahead with showing the KGB today because it's the ONLY rumor that's right?

:D

I kinda hope the Sandwich/Hamburger one isn't right, though (even though it makes sense). Then again, when was the last time a shotgun was part of my Heavy Assault Plan? I'd almost rather the sandwich be a taunt...

What I can't wait for is when teams of 10+ heavies die and tons of sandwiches line the battlefield........

The shotgun is an essential part of the heavy kit. It allows you to shoot on the move....take out a spy or a medic/ubersaw while moving yourself up to the frontline quickly. Also, you can take shots at fleeing opponents (sometimes you can't with the minigun if they run away correctly).

I can't wait for the unlock screen for this:

1 new weapon unlock!

SANDWICH

Heals 100 health when eaten.

See, I think that the sandwich might actually be real. Why?

There are two achievements with titles that make sense with the sandwich. "Don't Touch Sandvich" and "Konspicuous Konsumption". They both seem like a sandwich would fit.

Plus, I think they Wanted to make the heavy more viable without a medic. THUS... if you are alone, say, in the enemies' vent system in turbine, you no longer have to yell for medics to come through that dangerous area, you simply eat a sandwich.

Plus, the minigun would be interesting. minus 25% damage, but it makes the enemy you are hitting move 50% slower... This could be useful for various situations, but if they are going with the rumor that scouts would be hurt by it... well, scouts are already basically dead when they see a heavy at medium range. Therefore, it would kinda suck, I think.

But in all honesty, I think that those updates fit.

He was actually wrong on the KBG. They said,"Fists- Boxing Gloves that never crit unless you've killed someone in the last 5-10 seconds, then they always crit." But They can crit at anytime, the downside is that they are slower at attacking not zero crits unless you've recently killed someone. I think the minigun one is stupid, bullets already have knockback. And a sandwich? The achievement names do bring possibilities but I honestly think trading a gun for a sandwich is just stupid, how would the taunt work too?

The minigun idea is terrible... A single heavy can spam the gun from long range and hope to get a lucky shot

I don't think the effect will last very long. I think the point of the minigun is to slow down people trying to escape, not make everyone sitting ducks from across the map.

So if the second weapon becomes a sandwich how does one reload a sandwich?

Is the heavy going to have to sit down and make one? Or does he have packages of them in his belt that he will pull out and have to unwrap them?

Either way... If this sandwich idea is true, it's really stupid and changes the game to much. As a weapon it will replace something, but as a taunt it would simply just be to powerful. You aren't losing any capabilities and you get free health whenever. There is a reason for medkits, use them.

I whole heartedly agree.

My thought is that it will probably only have an ammo capacity of one. Thus, picking up dropped weapons, will, strangely enough, probably give you more sandwiches. so, you eat one, then you need to find ammo somewhere.

My vision for the taunt is that it would change one instance of the Heavy "Shotgun" taunt with eating the sandvich. After you've eaten the sandvich, you go back to a regular taunt. Maybe reload sandviches at resupply rooms?

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if the ONLY mention of sandviches comes simply from Meet the Scout. For example, according to the list "Don't touch sandvich" requires killing scouts. Also, maybe the eating the sandvich is a taunt... but it doesn't heal? The assumption is that sandvich=heal, always

Just some thoughts. Then the heavy update will appear and make it all moot anyway :D

what if it heals you but takes like 10 seconds to perform the action, the time during which you are completely vulnerable?

anyway, doesn't sound like a great alternative to the shotgun except in certain situations

The problem with it being a taunt is that it takes no skill to use. The pyro's taunt kill is hard/takes skill, but satisfying when you pull it off. There is no skill needed to hide and taunt in a corner away from the action to get some health back.

As for the length of time it takes to perform the taunt. Anything less than 5 seconds would be way to short for free health with full weapon capabilities. Anything more and it's useless because you can easily run and get medkits.
