Can I support this video card?

we need to know what motherboard you have and what wattage you have on your power supply. if you dont know how to check i can tell you. it would also be helpful to know what case you have.

Yeah I dunno how to check my wattage or my mother board, as for my case, here it is, a dell dimensions4700

if you can, open the side of the case and the hardware with all the wires coming out of it is the power supply

we need to know the numbers on the stickers (particularly the +12v) to see if it has enough juice to power the card

as for the motherboard, i think the x300 is a pcie card so the card you selected should fit into the same slot

as for the price...newegg has it for about half the price
i noticed that the bb you showed was in canada, so i'm guessing your canadian
theres going to be a newegg.ca soon so i would advise to wait it out a little longer

I think you should get a new cpu like a core2duo, its better to get a cpu upgrade rather than a good gpu upgrade because a p4 will most likely bottleneck a good modern graphics card now, but its really up to you again check the price on newegg, it is most likely much cheaper

#1. BESTBUY!? ARE YOU BAT******* INSANE?!
Ahem. Buy from newegg.

This one has twice the memory, and is half the price, yet the same card.
#2. I used to have the X300, and it quite outdated, although it does use the PCI-E x16 bus. I also happen to have a dell dimension 5150, which is a little bit newer than your computer, although just barley. However, I do know that if you buy a card which requires a 4 pin connector to work, you'll probably need a splitter cable.
After looking into it, however, the card mentioned above does not need a 4 pin connector, so it should be fine.

The x300 is EXTREMELY outdated. I mean EXTREMELY. As in years.
While a CPU would do more than the graphics card, a 2600 pro would allow him to run games on low-medium without making his computer slowdown.

Yea i guess it would, but thinking in the long run it wont haha, if i had a choice i would get at least an 8800gt
