Between the two minigun weapons, which do you think you'll end up using most of the time?

Sasha. I dig the raw power, and the enemies getting away isn't a big deal since it's usually too late by the time they turn and run.

Lame, the sandwich better be like either awesome or in some way boost the Heavy's slow effect.

I'll be honest... I was hoping for a lighter minigun to help alleviate the super slow heavy while spinning effect. Something lighter, but with less punch when it hits. I was also hoping for a tighter cone of fire for more usability at range.

This update is pretty blah. I imagine I'll do to poor Natascha what I did to the Backburner. Jump up and down in glee that I've unlocked it, but then choose to keep my normal flamethrower equipped. Not at all like my Blutsauger, which was equipped the moment it was available.

Agreed... the Blutsauger is excellent. The backburner I never liked, and I think that me and sasha will be spending more long nights together, without that hussy natasha ruining our fun.

(meaning : I will be taking the original gun over the new one).

I'll have to try them both and see which one I play better as then choose. The only thing good about this update is half the server will be heavies while i am a medic thats good :P

This update sucks for me. I have only 10 hours as heavy.

O.o only 10 hours he says lol. my most played class only has 35 hours and a bevy of my other classes come in the 10 hour area. i usually dont play 2 classes ever and thats heavy and spy. i had 45 minutes on my heavy till i started practicing for the heavy release. and honestly came to find i liked it.

as for using sasha or natasha it all depends on whats happening on the map when i pick it. if i wanna just get out there and ruinate some enemies, obviously sasha. but if my base needs backup on an enemy push like possibly an uber push well then im taking natasha. i think a natasha user in combo with an sg might be good enough to stop an uber push or at least slow it considerably.

which is needed. lately the only thing people have been doing on the servers im playing on are get an uber up make a push wait for uber and make a push rinse and repeat. which is ok but it just takes away from the gameplay i like. i think ubers should be harder to get for as powerful as they can be. 3-4 medics in an uber push = destroyed base

I am having a feeling that this update is going to fail the most. I dont think the weapons seem good of getting at all from what I have seen so far, the maps... they may be the greatest thing in the update . I really am having a hunch that this isnt going to be a "Wow this is awesome!!!" update.
I think the medic update is the best update so far, and I think it will be the best.

Sucks..... My favorite class is scout..... why is it every single update has hurt scouts so much.

Well there is no this or this. I will be using both, and contrary to my fellow posters, I like this update. The maps look solid, and I think that though I did not get what I was hoping for with the weapons, that they will boost the use of the heavy class a bit and add more variety to it's use other than standing next to a dispenser, holding down both mouse buttons, and hoping you hit something.

Except for the KGB, this update to the heavy will do exactly as valve intended, make the heavy more able when there are no medics around. I actually find the idea of replacing a shotgun with a sandwich to be a very interesting prospect, giving up firepower for longevity.

Most people will look at each thing by itself and then think about how to use it offensively. What should be done is to look at what combinations can accomplish what when used together. Natasha is fit more for a defensive heavy, while the sandwiches and the KGB are more suited for a heavy that's on the warpath.

It will alter gameplay with more adverse tactics, it is free, and most importantly, it's still going to be fun. And that's what matters.

I apologize for my stupidity. The above post by SFC Scott M (my father) was made by me. I keep forgetting that it auto-logs for him on the computer I am using, where as on mine, it logs ME in automatically. I apologize for any confusion.

I think natasha might be good too on offense, in some cases too, heavy (for me despite only 19 hours) has three of my personal bests, best kills in a life (26) and most damage (6,500) and most domination (6) the slow effect means that you can corner assault with a medic, and a defender can't run too, at least not easily, and again, think about the kritzkrieg with natasha, the slow down and that, ugh, just downright lethal, since the heavy rounds are really nasty in crit mode. (i hope they go to improving charge rate of that to 20/25% instead of just 10.)

I feel this is the best update out. This is doing exactly what valve intended to give alternatives without creating an upright upgrade.Although the heavy will be upgraded ( due to there being only 3 updates out ) he won't be overpowered. Also even with sasha if a pyro pops out it still takes a while to kill that pyro ;) and with natasha he might do more damage on you, it depends on the slow. But I'm going to have to go with natasha as I'll love to annoy the crap out of people but spinning shooting them once and watch as they slow down.Heck I won't even try to kill them I'll just scatter and watch as the entire team slows down. :D

I wonder how long the slow effect will be. will it be on contact only? or will it be for about a second afterwards?

and more important, will the slow effect still be useful on uber teams. if it is, it will be very valuable. if the uber is invulnerable to slowing, well, then, it won't be as useful.

If both of the above conditions are true (longish slow effect and it affects ubers) I will probably make the switch.

i will use natasha cause i can slow people down then run up and punch them with my KGBs
