Heavy Update...

I like the sandwich because in the SCOUT steam youtube video the heavy is eating a sandwich and I wondered why.

You forgot the new gametype that was released with the heavy update! It's basically a copy of CS. FAIL.

I played this for a few rounds this afternoon and wasn't terribly impressed to be honest, I might have been a lack of teamwork though. Perhaps in a more organized match, things would turn out a bit better.

whut is the big deal about heavy ? at least it will be a little different facet to him.. gameplay might change slightly, maybe for the best, maybe no.. we will see... it's not like anything is being TAKEN AWAY.. just use the shotgun and sasha if that is how you like to play heavy.

i got all the updates tonight.
and from what i can tell

a. the natasha is only usefull on scouts,
... i'll take my 25% damage increase with the sasha thank you very much :)

B. the sandwich is a different idea. i like being able to heal myself.
but i don't really want to retreat to do it.

C. the boxing gloves.. i think they're the star of this update and my personal favourite.
1 hit kill everytime and only a little slower. i know it's not the most creative thing, but very useful :)
 
No disrespect sir, but this particular quote "Boxing gloves he already has. Why not like brass knuckles?" sounds too fool for me. The idea is to give a Heavy the chance to play alone (which I don't like because they are the main source of my points).

Above all, I think it's a pretty good patch, more maps, new gamestyle, new unlockables. Now we just need a Normal Map Rotation Ego Server :D.
 
turboraton, to address a normal map rotation eGO server, i believe council has tried this on a few occasions, but it never caught on. i guess people like to stay on one map, or they choose their own rotation by going to different servers
 
I agree with that last part. We do like to choose our own. if we want a different map, we just leave.

Come on now brass knuckles? That is less creative than boxing gloves, besides a tough guy like the heavy dosen't need brass knuckles and I personally can't ever picture him using those. He did not already have boxing gloves by the way...

The new minigun looks ok to me, if you don't like the thing then you really don't have to use it...

I do agree there could have been better things than the sandwich but it sounds to me like it plays into the game's goofiness perfectly and puts a bit of risk and thinking into the heavy game which really is about thinking. I was sceptical at first but now im taking to the idea. Once again if you don't like it there is nothing stopping you from using the shotgun instead.

How do you think a "grapleing" move would be implemented, it would be very complicated, hard to pull off, and not very useful at all, you throw someone away and they just continue to shoot you rendering your grappling weapon useless. Maybe it does some damage, still pointless because you would need to be right up to the person and by that time you are dead.

The sandvich is PURE GENIUS and I love Valve for having the guts to do it. With all the serious games on the market, TF2 stands out even more now. Some games you unlock scope and special camo..... in TF2, you get a damn sandwich. GENIUS.

I played a little last night, Watched everyone run around with their new toys. Then i find out THE SANDVICH is the first unlockable. Even more dumb.......

The mini gun Sounds are really cool (ill give it that) too many heavys right now to tell how it will work when theirs only one on a team.

The gloves look funny, thats all ill say. Just another way to aggravate your medic IMO. Uber a heavy and he switches to the big SLOW gloves to punch one guy wasting the entire uber. Oh wait, now you can run around with these gloves then retreat and have a snack. Hmmm sounds like someone is tring to put the "I" in "TEAM".

my post before was my OPINION, just like now, I still think they could have done better on the creativity part. Dont flame me because i came up with "brass knuckles, a diff mini gun, and a grapling move" at least i came up with ideas. Which again, is more than i can say for valve.
