Usain Bolt

I'd celebrate if I won a gold medal in the Olympics, wouldnt you?

What he did in the 1 was a bit stupid but it isnt enough for me to not like him.
 
he was excited.... i just want to know how fast his time would have been. funny his name is bolt lol
 
lol..how can you hate on this guy... anyways this guy is amazing. only 22 years old. He's going to be here for a while.
 
He actually resembles TO in physical appearance. But yeah, they both act almost exactly the same.
 
Why can't he show boat? He is the fastest person on the planet.............................................
 
Hey I agree... that guy is fast, but he just seems that he doesn't have respect.
 
He can show boat all he wants, as I said, do it after you finish the race. There is absolutely no reason to be looking around, hitting your chest and pumping your fists with 20 m left to go in a sprint.

It's unsportsmanlike and shows no respect for what he's participating in. And don't get me wrong, I'd be screaming and yelling all over the place if I won gold, but I most definitely would not be doing what he does mid-race.

What is the diffrence? He is still showboating either way. I belive he deserves to do it, if I ran that fast I know I would. He is just having fun which is what people should be doing, the olympics is taken too seriously. It is nice to see someone break that mold.

Agreed. I don't think its "disrespectful" at all.
 
nope. I mean, seriously. on 100 meters, if you can get out so far in front of the pack that you can lift your arms and slow down before the finish, and STILL break the world record, more power to you. simple.
 
Are you serious? No respect? He only showboated in the 100m because he was ahead by a few body lengths. He said himself "I am not here at the Olympics to set records, I am here to win gold medals and bring glory to my country. I can go set world records on my own time, but this is my country's time, and I want the world to see our greatness". He brought great entertainment to a spectacular race that certainly showed his pride for his country. How can someone be so selfish to say that he is being disrespectful to the Olympics by showboating? It is a contest to see who the best athletes in the world are, and if he wins gold, and especially if he sets a world record, who is anyone to criticize him for showboating? The only difference would be a faster time. It takes a long time to prepare for the Olympics and a LOT of hard work. How dare someone try to take away his glory personal enjoyment that he worked tirelessly for by saying "you should have kept sprinting and set a higher world record" for the sake of someone simply wanting to see a faster time on a piece of paper or on a webpage.

The guy reminds me a LOT of Deon Sanders. He is extremely fast and has a little fun by showboating just a little bit, but completely backs it up with pure talent and hard work. People like this are what bring life to sports, and they are the ones that people remember the most. Hats of to Usain Bolt.
 
^Nice post man. I recorded all his runs because we witnessed an unbelievable performance, which won't be matched anytime soon. I'm excited for the 4x100m relay race.
 
He only shows off a little bit? Really? I have every right to think that his showboating is disrespectful. How does that come off as selfish whatsoever? The Olympics are not some joke, these are serious games and call for a little more serious attitudes. There is a HUGE difference between celebrating before the race and after the race. People go to see the Olympics to see the best men and women compete, and these men and women should always be putting forth 100%.

Is he really that impatient that he can't wait less than two seconds to just cross the finish line? Is that really too much to ask? Do you not get enough enjoyment out of the Olympics already that you need a man to, I feel, completely disrespect especially his competitors but also the games?

I am totally fine with him wanting to run for gold, but you should always be putting forth 100% effort, even if you don't want world records.

I've also found that by setting records comes gold medals, so I'm not sure why all these athletes are saying they're competing for gold medals and not world records when they go hand in hand.

You too? I hate that guy. I love how he thinks he is a god. I say this because he went up to the camera man after his 200m run last night and said "I'm numba one!"

What a jerk. You didn't see Phelps do that.
 
He dominated the 100, and 200 for that matter.

He trained for years and worked harder than you could ever imagine. So why do you care if he celebrates a second or two early?

That's right. I am the fastest man, now I will tell you what and when to eat. It's okay though, because I am the fastest man. I don't need respect. I only need me.
