I've used Vista recently and I can honestly say.... It works good with alot of things... but it also causes issues that shouldn't even happen. It does run flawlessly with most games, so thats not a problem. It's just a few programs that are glitchy with it, and you'll prolly never use them. The only thing I really can't stand is the fact that it runs your card in 3D mode 24/7.... even if you're not using aero, it still runs in the backround. Anyone know if this cuts the lifespan of a card down?

I have Vista Business dual-booting on one of my PCs and it is enjoyable to browse the internet with or do school work on, but it is just not very great for gaming or 3D graphics of any kind. I have tried DoD on it and it installed just fine but when I ran the game it hiccuped A LOT. It wasn't even really like a slow frame rate, it was just really jumpy.

I am a system admin for the university that I attend.
I use vista all of the time, but for my personal computer I will not install it for another good year or so.
the firewall drives me wild..
I have to deal with a lot of its errors..
I hate the system resources that it sucks up..
I hate that the wireless, and ethernet icons are in one.

I do not hate the OS in general, but I wait awhile for improvements to be made.

What is Alienwere? do you mean Alienware? because thats a pc manufacturor not an OS choice.

XP has always served me needs well, so I don't see any need to get Vista until Microsoft stops supporting XP altogether or until the majority of software being made cannot run under XP.

hmm i have vista on my laptop right now.. and it kinda made it slower.. love the graphics thou.. and im sure windows will fix all that lag wit a patch soon i hope .. but vista is bad for gaming just to let u kno

My brother bought a laptop with it, and to be frank, I didn't enjoy it one bit. I just shuddered at the thought of trying to run any game on it while all that Mac OSX plagurised graphics was running. Also, I don't like the new look of it, i.e. how everything has been shuffled around (again). Microsoft is like a bored housewife, constantly moving the sloppily built furniture around, desperately trying to alleviate the monotony of a lonely life while her husband is making out the his secretary (and so on and so forth).

i have vista on my laptop.. i like the way it looks and all but i rather have more speed.. and vista is way slower compared to xp

I just got it and I love it, I dont know what everyone is talking about...I never seem to hear any good about it, you can turn off the safety alerts and such..........Vista is shiny!
