Anyone around here with a dedicated server?

Hey everyone.

So, recently, I've been doing some mapping, and I wanted to test my map out at various stages.

I can do this myself, but I realized quickly that I would need a dedicated server in order to get some testers in there with me.

I then realized it is very complicated to set up a dedicated server.



I'm wondering if anyone here has one set up that they can use on a whim, as it were. I would like to have maybe an hour or so with a few friends (all from eGO) to do some testing, and of course, you would be invited.

Is there anyone with a private or dedicated server that can give me a hand here?

why dont you send Garden or MoP a PM about the private eGO server. Garden might be for helping you out with testers for it.

That's a great Idea, Duck. Once I get the map totally finished (meaning a version that is fully detailed, and that I am happy with) I will do that. For now, I actually got PMed about a testing server that will work for my current geometry-beta versions.

I will do that once I'm happy with the map though, it's a great Idea

Dedicated servers are pretty difficult to set up,
i tried it once but it didn't turn out so good.

I've already set up servers for farming so if you just pm me with the map file I can easily set a server up for you

Gah, guess I'm a tad late, but Dread, if you or anyone else needs to borrow a DS for a while, feel free to send me a PM. I have an old Linux box lying around, and love to do that kind of stuff.

Existence, I may well take you up on your offer later. The server that I used today might not always be available... likely, I will need to hop around.
