Yes there will be a demo for both 360 and PC according to this..

Left 4 Dead releases this November on Xbox 360 and PC and will have playable demos available on both platforms so that you can try before you buy.

There is a demo coming for both PC and 360. IGN has failed me again but kotaku prevails!! WOOT. Doesn't matter what it came from what matters is there is a demo coming both single play and multiplayer!!!
