First TF2 Hack I've seen

Had a guy on the TF2 Fort Server, "Manda". He was playing a Heavy, and moving around in a virtual blur, about 10 times as fast a Scout. It was very obvious he was hacked/cheating in some fashion.

First hack I've seen in TF2, hmph. The "request ban" form requires their Steam ID, I've no clue how to get it, and admin's present, of which there was none at the time. Hopefully one's seen my shout by this time.

I suggest you use steam to search for this "Manda", and if you can remember his avatar or if there were clan/division tags/random numbers in their name, you may be able to report them accurately.

Or they'll log on again when there is an admin present.

I believe the VAC system automatically checks for hacks like this. He will probably be banned from all VAC secured servers soon.

For future reference, type status into the console and it gives you a list of all players on the server plus their steam IDs.

You should also record a demo for evidence.

Type "record demoname" without the quotes to start recording, generally you should use the name of the offender as the name of the demo. When you think you have enough, type "stop" (again without the quotes) to finish the demo.

More info on that here: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Demo_Recording_Tools

I've spent a little time studying the console & movie commands, so, for me at least, the event had a positive result. I should be able to get more information if someone like this ruins our gameplay again.

Thank you for posting this info about video recording, I wasn't aware that this feature was available for TF2.

I've actually seen this hack before in another clans server. They did infact have VAC, but it did nothing. Strange.

VAC gives out delayed bans. The player detected will be banned sometime in the future, not immediately.
